Week Five

Week Five Lino Print For this brief, I chose multiple designs I had created previously within the past few weeks to develop and create into potential lino print designs. I chose a variety of designs, from easier to more difficult pieces so cut and print, but decided I liked my first idea, the dragonfly design. When cutting, I was very experimental in the background for the printing. I considered cutting it clean and deep, so nothing would show up around the dragonflies, but decided adding some texture would create a more patterned aesthetic. I had alot of fun with choosing different page types and colours for the peace, particularly loving magazine pages and deep/dark colours that made my design pop. If I were to develop this further, I would try brighter and neon colours on dark paper, or golden paints for the dragonfly wings.

Week Four

Week Four Perspective For this brief, we were asked to walk around campus and draw what we saw (buildings, streets etc.) in different perspectives. I practiced 1st, 2nd, and 3rd perspectives with different buildings on campus, although I found 3rd perspective difficult, as I always have done.
